FACULTY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe responsibilities of nursing faculty vary according to the type of program and the educational setting. The following is a list of assignments that an individual may be expected to perform when assuming a faculty position in the different programs. It should be noted, however, that specific duties may vary with each position available at the individual college or university and while generalizations may be made, it is best to contact the individual college or university for specific information. Associate Degree Programs:
Baccalaureate Degree Programs:
Masters Degree Programs:Classroom teaching Clinical instruction Skills lab teaching Student advising Committee work Curriculum development Student thesis advisement Scholarly activities, such as research, publication, grants, presentations, and incorporation of research findings into course curriculum are required Service to the university, community and the profession also are required. The extent to which service and scholarly activities are required, depend on the mission of the school and the faculty rank. Doctoral Degree Programs:
