ALLEGANY COLLEGE OF MARYLAND

The nursing curriculum prepares graduates to assume beginning staff positions for patient care in general hospitals and similar health facilities within the scope of the defined functions of the practical nurse. Nursing students must maintain the scholastic standards of the college and must achieve a grade of "C" or better in each nursing course and each required biology course. A passing (satisfactory) grade in both clinical and campus laboratories is also required..

RN: Associate Degree in Nursing and ADN completion for LPNs
PROGRAM LENGTH:  PN: one year (plus prerequisite courses and one summer)
RN: two years and one summer (in addition to prerequisite courses)
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED
One year of chemistry, biology and algebra with a "C" or better
College placement tests
