CHESAPEAKE COLLEGE
MGW NURSING PROGRAM

The Chesapeake College/MGW Nursing Program offers a one-year Practical Nursing Program and an Associate Degree in Nursing. The Practical Nursing Program is a curriculum option available for persons interested in becoming licensed practical nurses. The Associate of Science Degree in nursing Program is designed to prepare graduate nurses to assume careers as registered nurses. Any Licensed Practical Nurse may apply for advanced standing in the Associate Degree in Nursing Program.

PROGRAM TYPE: Practical Nursing 
Associate Degree in Nursing
PROGRAM LENGTH:  Practical Nursing: Two academic semesters plus a summer term, after prerequisite courses
Associate Degree: Four academic semesters plus a summer math elective, after prerequisite courses.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
Completion of high school Biology and Chemistry with a grade of "C"or better and
Completion of the following college courses with a grade of "C" or better: PSY 150 (general psychology) and BIO 211 (Anatomy and Physiology I)
APPLICATION DEADLINES: Fall admission - March 1
TUITION & FEES PER YEAR:  2002-2003 Academic Year
County Resident: $70/credit, $1500/semester
Out-of-State: $215/credit
Other Expenses (approximate): $1000
ENROLLMENT:  68 combined program enrollment in 2002
GRADUATES:  PN: 11 in August, 2002 RN: 20 in 2002
