The curriculum is divided into four broad areas and consists of theory and clinical laboratory experiences. Emphasis in nursing courses is placed upon the needs of patients as individuals and as members of families and the community. Environmental influences during illness and health care are also considered. Courses in general education provide the student with the necessary scientific and social background to function as an effective person, citizen and health care provider. A grade of "C" or better must be achieved in all courses. If at any time a student is placed on academic probation, it is required that nursing courses be delayed until the academic probation is removed. A student who leaves the nursing program for academic reasons may be reinstated only once.
