PRINCE GEORGES COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Graduates of the Practical Nursing Program will be prepared to function as a member of the health care team and provide basic care to individuals with commonly occurring health care problems. Graduates of the Associate Degree Nursing Program will be prepared to function as entry level Registered Nurses.

PROGRAM TYPE: RN Program - Associate Degree (ASD) and ASD completion program for LPNs; 
PN Program - Certificate for  LPNs.
PROGRAM LENGTH:  Practical Nursing: Two academic semesters and one summer.
Associate Degree Nursing: Two semesters and one summer after prerequisite courses for LPN completion students.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent

PN: Successful completion (grade of C or higher) of BIO 205, BIO 206, EGL 101, NUR 100, and PSY 101 and eligible for MAT 112 or higher with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

RN: Successful completion (grade of C or higher) of BIO 205, BIO 206, EGL 101, MAT 112 or higher, NUR 101, and PSY 101 with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

PN to RN: Must have a valid active Maryland nursing license, complete all RN prerequisite courses, and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
