Maryland Nurse Practice Act

Though the Board is not permitted to publish the Nurse Practice Act in electronic format, The Nurse Practice Act can be found under Maryland Code > Health Occupations > Title 8. Nurses. The Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR, Title 10, Subtitle 27) portion of the Practice Act can be found at COMAR Online.

Printed copies of the Nurse Practice Act are available by request. All nurses licensed in Maryland are eligible to receive one free copy of the Practice Act each year. Additional or replacement copies carry  a $10.00 per copy charge. Licensed nurses should provide name, nursing license number, and current mailing address when sending an e-mail to aalford@dhmh.state.md.us or writing via U.S. Mail to:
